This A-frame cabin is the perfect winter retreat

The cabin’s open-concept floorplan belies its limited square footage. Behind the TV room and the small sitting nook, there is a full kitchen and the main bedroom. The same honey-hued wood appears on the walls, floors, banister, and the kitchen cabinetry, which keeps the cabin looking streamlined and cozy.

We love the plush leather sofa in this living area. To save space, the TV and other electronics are hung directly on the wall so a large entertainment unit wasn’t necessary. The olive green area rug complements the warm palette.

On the other side of the front door, across from the TV room, is this small seating nook. This is the perfect place to curl up with a book and a coffee. The fireplace is more than just cute—it also heats the home on wintry evenings.

This bedroom is located at the back of the main floor. Although it’s close to the kitchen, a heavy red curtain offers some privacy. Since the ceiling is low here, rather than hanging an overhead light fixture, the homeowners chose a large sconce for behind the bed frame. Meanwhile, a small lamp on the bedside table also brings in more light to the windowless room.

Although tight quarters, there's a full-size fridge and oven, plus serious counter space in the kitchen. To get to the loft bedroom, this ladder can be pulled down.

And here is the loft bedroom in the tip of the house. Although it looks quite small, the room is open and overlooks the entire cabin.

The cabin is located near Stevens Pass, a ski resort in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. Since the A-frame is located on a rocky slope, homeowners must climb up a series of winding stairs to get to the front entrance.
